Hi Everyone,
First thank you so much for visiting my page and I hope it will inspire you to travel along the backroads and through your neighborhood in a different direction each day. I happen to live nearby the historic Route 66, and is the source of my inspiration for my paintings and short stories.
A few years ago, I made my first journey along Route 66 and was instantly captivated by the towns, vintage cars, and most importantly the people that love this iconic highway. The creative energy was so powerful to me, that I wanted to tell stories about the different places that I had traveled through. I wondered what life was like back then and scoured the empty parking lots for clues and walked through abandoned buildings filled with dust, broken glass and ceiling tiles falling on the ground. On the surface, it seemed like a barren wasteland, but my mind was swirling at a fevered pitch and went into overdrive! I wanted to learn more about these places. I hope you enjoy these places as much as I and leave a positive or encouraging note for me! Better yet, I hope you visit some of these places!
I named my blog opposite of the Northern Star, in reference to the Great State of Alaska. I might not be living in North Star territory, just the deep South, with lots of charm. Southern Star Southern Charm is a reference to the Deep South of which I grew up as a child.
Lastly, I'd like to make a quick shout out to my fantastic family! Thank you to my wonderful and supportive guys for allowing me to work and play each day. Let's get started!
Warmest Regards, Jeanette Lage
